The Position plays a core role in successfully exceeding the requirements of our TEC contracts.
Teaching Quality and Learner Engagement
Ensures the ILN programme provides high-quality education, a rewarding experience to every learner enrolled, and better value for taxpayers’ money and government investment.
Key areas:
- Academic leadership
- Ongoing improvement of the teaching practices and learner engagement
- Develop our ESOL programme on TalentLMS (https://www.talentlms.com)
- Monitor assessment moderation and compliance requirements

Programme Coordination
Ensures the ILN programme operates smoothly and productively.

Key areas:
- Strengthen learner retention and word-of-mouth enrolments
- Meet the weekly learning hours requirement
- Business-as-usual self-assessment (knowledgeable about NZQA EER process)
- Programme Impact Model and Intake Clock system and Intake Review
- Professional connections and value-added relationships with key stakeholders
Person Specification
- At least three years of ESOL teaching experience in New Zealand
- Previous experience in an academic coordination position, preferably in an environment with continuous student enrolment
- Ability to be problem/solution-focused, set targets and meet deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure and make timely and effective decisions
- Ability to think and act with a “preventing fires” mindset
- Flexible and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Pleasant, friendly, professional manner
- Ability to lead and inspire teachers
- Ability to make a positive influence on student behaviour
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computing skills
- An ability to pay careful attention to detail
- Excellent cross-cultural awareness and people management skills
- Independent, driven, energetic and creative
- A willingness to understand and appreciate the business basics, including marketing, sales & bottom line.
Ideally, the applicant will be:
- A trained NZCEL teacher
- Trained in NZQA English for Academic Purpose (EAP) or unit standards
- Knowledgeable about literacy and numeracy and TEC requirements for LNAAT (Literacy and Numeracy Adult Assessment Tool)
- Experienced in dealing with international study tours and groups or projects
Reports to: Academic Manager
Working week: Monday – Friday (30-40 hours)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From $65,000.00 per year

Education:
